Advanced nesting and automatic cutting functions

Automated import

Cutter4D turns closed contours in your DXF drawings into parts ready for nesting. You can also add parts by dimensions or from a spreadsheet.

Advanced nesting algorithm

High efficiency that considers your business constraints: sheet dimensions, part quantities, spacing and edge margins.

Results tailored to your needs

Zoom in to inspect your nesting, download each sheet as DXF or SVG, and get a PDF report with cutting length and offcut size.

New: G-code (NC) output for laser/plasma.

CAM functionalities

Generic G-code (laser/plasma) output is available: holes first, then the outer contour. Lead-in/out paths and machine-specific post-processors are on our roadmap.

Three steps

  1. DefineAdd parts, enter sheet size and kerf.

Frequently asked questions

What is Cutter4D?

Cutter4D is browser-based 2D cutting optimisation (nesting) software that places the parts from your DXF drawings onto sheet metal, wood, glass or board with minimum waste. Nothing to install.

Which file formats are supported?

Add parts from DXF files (several at once), from CSV, XLSX, ODS and XLS spreadsheets, or by entering dimensions. Download the result per sheet as DXF and SVG, as machine-ready G-code (NC), and a cutting report as PDF.

Which cutting machines does it work with?

The generic G-code output is for laser and plasma cutting. By importing the DXF output into your CAM software you can also use it with waterjet, CNC router and other 2D cutting machines.

Which cutting settings are available?

Part spacing (kerf), a separate margin for each sheet edge, per-part rotation limits and angle tolerance, mirroring, nesting small parts inside holes, irregular remnant sheets, common-line cutting, and straight (guillotine) cutting plans with a cut list for panel saws when parts are rectangles. Sizes can be entered in millimetres or inches.

Where are my drawings processed, and are they stored?

The optimisation runs entirely in your browser. The plan of each completed optimisation (parts and result) is stored in your account for support and quality improvement; it is never shared with third parties and is deleted with your account.

Is it free?

Your first 10 optimisations are free and no credit card is required. After that you can use a monthly or yearly subscription or a 24-hour day pass. Payments are handled by Paddle; current prices are in the pricing section.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel at any time from the licence page in the app; you keep using it until the end of the period you paid for.

How do I get started?

Sign in with your Google or Microsoft account, upload your DXF file, enter your sheet size and start the optimisation. The user guide walks through every step.
